The protection of cows maintains the most miraculous form of food, that is milk for maintaining the higher tissues of the brain for understanding higher aims of life. Milking the cow means drawing the principles of religion in a liquid form. Panca-gavya, the five products received from the cow, namely milk, yogurt, ghee, cow dung and cow urine, are required in all ritualistic ceremonies performed according to the Vedic directions.
